All-Weather racing was ridiculed somewhat when it was introduced to British horse-racing at Lingfield in 1989, but it is now an integral part of the racing calendar. It even has its own Champions Day on Good Friday at Lingfield.

There are five All-Weather courses in England:

Lingfield, Kempton and, most recently, Chelmsford, race on the Polytrack surface.

Southwell race on Fibresand.

Wolverhampton race on the new Tapeta track.

Each course has its own quirks, and therefore track knowledge is vital-perhaps even more so than on turf.

It is not unusual for a horse to take a liking to a particular surface, and rack up multiple wins on it.

Similarly, a jockey can become a specialist at riding a favourite track, and consequently be a major asset on a selection.

We have members of our team close to each of the All-Weather venues, and their local knowledge, race-reading expertise, and experience all add to the quest of finding winners.

As the name suggests, meetings on the All-Weather are rarely abandoned, and operate all year round.
